Are you ready for anything?
Working for yourself can be challenging. By taking up business income protection right from the start, you can take away the need to worry about how you and your family will be if you are sick or injured.
How it works
Start-Up Income Protection is designed to meet the needs of business owners who have been trading for less than three years. It provides a monthly payment if you’re out of action due to sickness or injury, and unable to work for more than 10 hours a week.
You choose the amount of cover you require − up to $9,000 per month − and we pay you that agreed sum if you need to claim during the first three years of your policy. You also have a choice of waiting periods, and premiums are automatically waived when you are on claim.
At any time after 12 months, you can choose to upgrade to one of Sovereign’s Disability Income Protection benefits, providing you have two full years of financial evidence.
Key recent enhancements
Total Disability Income Protection claims paid in advance
All Total Disability claims on eligible products will now be paid immediately following the end of the waiting period.
Increasing the recurrent disablement period from 6 to 12 months
If you suffer a relapse of your Total Disability within 12 months of your recovery, you will be able to return on claim without needing to serve the waiting period.
For further information about these and other enhancements, please contact your adviser or refer to the customer guide or policy document.
